Description: A variant of the failed BC-305 Phoenix-class Battle Cruiser, the LS-305B Pegasus-class is unique in its design, in that it has been designed to serve as a transport ship to deliver ground troops to combat zones. With the conclusion of the Allies-Chinese War, the need for a ship capable of delivering a sizable ground force between worlds and galaxies was heavily emphasized upon, although the concept of such a design has been debated on since 2023, but budget strains and a lack of interest hindered any further development. Eventually, the concept became more popular, but a new design would take years to develop from scratch.

In the interests of saving both time and funding, a team of engineers, collaborating with fleet and Marine officers, revisited the failed Phoenix-class, after some interest was shown in converting the venerable BC-304 Daedalus-class to the role. Due to the two classes similarities, along with the improved aerodynamics of the Phoenix-class, work was approved to begin modifications to the specifications in October of 2026, and on November 18, 2026, the plans for the Pegasus-class were unveiled.

The BC-305B Pegasus-class sacrifices offensive capabilities in exchange for carrying a unit the size of an American Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), which is roughly 2,200 personnel, plus vehicles, aircraft and equipment. Because the ship is able to enter atmosphere easily, the Pegasus-class can land directly on a target world, and offload it's ground force contingent and provide local fire support, as well as command and control. In light of such a large amount of personnel on board, the Pegasus-class is also using an experimental new mass transporter system, based on both Asgard and Wraith technologies, to cope with quickly offloading personnel.
