A Zero Point Module, often abbreviated ZPM, is power source, created by the Ancients, capable of supplying tremendous amounts of energy. It is one of the most powerful power sources known to exist, having been developed by the Ancients several million years ago during their original habitation of the Milky Way galaxy.

Notes:

• Alteran: The Alterans have the knowledge and capability to make and use ZPM's freely.

• Asgard: The Asgard cannot make ZPM's but they can use them to greater effect.

• Asuran: The Asurans, created by the Alterans, have the knowledge and capability to make and use ZPM's freely.

• Goa'uld: The Goa'uld cannot make or use ZPM's freely. If they are able to use them effectively their arrogance prevents then from using the ZPM to its full capacity.

• Tau'ri: The Tau'ri cannot make ZPM's but they can use them to full effect.

• Traveler: The Travelers cannot make ZPM's but they can use them. Due to their technical limitations, Travelers cannot use ZPM's to full effect. Any Maihap that occurs on a Traveler ship equipped with a ZPM suffers a +3 modifier when determining the effect(s) of the mishap.

• Wraith: The Wraith cannot make ZPM's but can use them effectively, although a lot of time is required for the Wraith to utilize the ZPM to full effect. Great effort has been taken to prevent the Wraith from acquiring any ZPM's.
