Description: The SV-304 is a variant of the common BC-304. The SV-304 or Science Vessel as opposed to Battle Cruiser is based on the BC-304 but designed for more peaceful and scientific operations. The first ship of the sub class, the HMCS Polaris has led to the class unofficially being nicknamed the Polaris Class. Most of its systems are identical to the Mark III BC-304 with the main difference being reduced weapons and the lack of a fighter aerospace group and some increases in automation.

One major difference is the refitting of one of the hanger pods, the port hanger has been designed for usage in high risk experiments, designed to be jettisoned if needed. This reduces the overall auxiliary craft capacity to 12, with a standard compliment of 6 Jumpers.
