Capsule: The Strident-class Star Defender was a warship used by the New Republic Defense Fleet in the later years of the New Republic.

Produced by the Corellian Engineering Corporation, the Strident-class saw action against the Yuuzhan Vong. Three were stationed at Corellia during the Battle of Fondor.

In the Second Galactic Civil War, a number of them were used by the Corellian Defense Force against the Galactic Alliance.

The ships belonged to a different size class than that of the Galactic-class battle carriers.
