Naboo is a small, largely undeveloped world with sweeping expanses of natural landscape all over the planet's surface. Over the years, the people of Naboo have learned how to coexist with the natural environment on their planet, and as such their home is one of incredible natural beauty and advanced culture. Though the human population is large, they live peacefully, if grudgingly, with the Gungans, an amphibious race which remains largely isolationist in their underwater cities. The city of Theed is the capital of Naboo, and is where the monarch and his or her royal family live for the duration of their term. Naboo is protected by the Royal Security Force, which is a volunteer organization with adequate training and a capable starfighter squadron. However, as was seen in the Battle of Naboo, a well-trained army is more than a match for the security volunteers.
