Hiit was a desolate moon which orbited the gas giant of Maal. It was located at the intersection of the Authority Guardian Corridor and the Trianii Shunt, in space annexed by the Corporate Sector in 5 BBY.

Hiit was the home of the Hiitian, a massive, avian species. They were first contacted by the Trianii Rangers, after which many left Hiit to seek their fortunes elsewhere. The Hiitians maintained good trading relations with the Trianii, in contrast to the warily hostile stance taken towards the Corporate Sector following the moon's annexation.
