Description: Arrat are pack hunters from Myssa II, a world of wide plains. They are sentient, though primitive, and never developed technology beyond the spear and rudimentary clothing. When a group of Tavlek mercenaries came to Myssa II fifty cycles ago, the Arrat were fascinated. The two species quickly came to an understanding and today some Tavlek mercenary groups have aid and back up in the form of Arrat.
Arrat possess a very strong pack mentality, made stronger by an empathic bond that all members of their species share. With it, the pack can transmit basic concepts and work hard as a fluid unit. They use both to help them weed out prey, and to communicate silently during pack maneuvers. While individuals exist within the pack, everyone is considered part of the whole, and selfish considerations rarely arise. The pack is not just a hunting party, it is a family, a tribe, and the center of all social interaction within their culture. An Arrat is never alone as long as he has his pack.
Though known primarily for their hunting skills, Arrat have a rich and beautiful culture, including a healthy sense of spiritualism. They are a simple folk with simple needs and desires. They enjoy hunting, eating, mating, and dancing, and do their best to see that their friends enjoy life as much as they do. They are suspicious of outsiders, but should one succeed in warming up to a pack, they will find an ally for life. Those who anger a pack, on the other hand, will find a relentless foe who neither forgets or forgives a slight.
