Special Abilities:
Methane-Ammonia based Biochemistry: Cystell require a rich methane‐ammonia atmosphere in order to breathe and they are dependent on these same substances for refreshment. Water is a lethal toxin to them in much the same manner that water is to a human and they must wear bodily containment suits to provide lifepport while on human habitable worlds or human designed craft.
Temperature Sensitive: Cystell are highly resistant to cold environment, being essentially immune to freezing temperatures that would kill a human but they need support systems to keep their body temperature below –10 degrees Celsius or they literally begin to cook. As a side effect Cystell are cold to the touch and inflict damage after a round of close physical contact with normal alien species including humans.
Story Factors:
Rare: Outside of the Deeper Core where their home planet is located the Cystell are but unknown. A small contingent did travel back to the greater Galaxy centuries go but little is known as to what became of them.
