Class-2 Energy Gun

[edit]
Class-2 Energy Gun

The Class-2 Energy Guns, also referred as twin plasma cannons, are the Covenant's craft mounted weapons systems, commonly used on the Ghost and Banshee, and are essentially less powerful versions of the Heavy plasma cannon.

  • Firelinked: If twin mounted the weapon gains a +1D damage.

Gravity Cannon

[edit]

The Gravity Cannon is a directed energy weapon integrated into the gravity thrones used by the Covenant High Prophets.

Class 2 Mortar

[edit]
Class 2 Mortar

The Class-2 Plasma mortar is a medium plasma mortar utilized by the Covenant Type-48 Light Assault Gun Carriage similar to that of the Type-26 Assault Gun Carriage. While charging, the plasma possesses a bluish tinge, though it is red when it is fired. The weapon has a less pronounced parabolic arc than its larger cousin but can fire once every two to five seconds.

Heavy Plasma Mortar

[edit]

The Wraith is a mobile plasma mortar. In Halo: Combat Evolved, that was the sole purpose of the Wraith, lacking any other weapon systems. In Halo 2, the Wraith was armed with two plasma cannons for protection. In Halo 3, the Wraith was turned into an all out tank with its own gunner seat.

Class-2 Fuel Rod

[edit]
Class-2 Fuel Rod

The Class-2 Projectile Cannon, colloquially referred to as the Fuel Rod Cannon, is a Covenant direct-fire energy weapon and a larger, more powerful, vehicle mounted version of the Type-33 LAAW with anti-vehicle and anti-air applications. It is the secondary weapon of the Banshee, and the primary weapon of the Anti-Air Wraith and a variant of the Shade Turret.

35mm Autocannon

[edit]
35mm Autocannon

The 35mm Semi-Auto cannon are the primary offensive asset of Choppers. Each Chopper is mounted with four linked forward-firing auto cannons. It is self-loading and fires explosive projectiles.

Plasma Beam

[edit]

The term Plasma beam is used to describe superheated Plasma fired in a concentrated form from a Covenant weapon, able to fire its energy in that state.

Heavy Needler

[edit]

The Heavy Needler is a much larger and more powerful version of the Covenant Needler found on certain vehicles and turrets. The Heavy Needler's primary use is to assault ground troops, but it is also quite effective in taking out enemy aircraft as well. These three foot long needles, like the smaller version's, home on to enemy targets, embed themselves into that target, then detonate, causing devastating damage to the aircraft. In the prologue of Halo: First Strike, the Covenant camp started to fire on Fred-104 and Kelly-087 with the Heavy Needler after the Spartans delivered the nuke into the ship in the stolen Banshees. Fred described them as being like regular needles, but about 3 feet long.

Game Notes:

  • Super Combine: Listed damage is the initial hit. "Needles" detonate at the end of the following round. Increase detonate damage by +1 for each additional hit in a single round (total max damage: 6D).

Stasis Cannon

[edit]

The Stasis Cannon is a Covenant weapon found installed on the Vampire's frontal section. So far, it can only be seen in Halo Wars.

When fired, it disables the targeted enemy aircraft, rendering it unable to move or fire. Once the Vampire is upgraded with Stasis Drain, the weapon not only stops its target, but also drains its energy regenerating the Vampire itself and making the hostile crash onto the ground. Its second upgrade, Stasis Bomb, causes drained aircraft to explode, inflicting Area-of-Effect damage.

Game Notes:

  • Stasis Cannon: 3D+1 Ionization Damage.
  • Stasis Drain: 3D+1 Ionization Damage. Lasts 4D Rounds. Drains targets energy.
  • Stasis Bomb: 3D+1/2D+2/2D/1D Ionization Damage. Blast Radius: 0-15/30/45/60m.
