History:
Discovered after the Ruusan Reformation of the Galactic Republic, the world did not join the galactic government, though there were some Cragmoloids living in Coruscant's Galactic City during the time after the Clone Wars. Following the rise of the Galactic Empire, Ankus was invaded by the Galactic Empire and the natives were enslaved.

In 19 BBY Captain Gregar Typho of the Royal Naboo Security Forces journeyed into the Coruscant Underworld in search of information on the Dark Lords of the Sith. Directed to the Cragmoloid Boulad, Typho was able to instantly gain a report that one Darth Sidious had traveled to the fire world of Mustafar at the same time as the deceased Senator Padmé Amidala and Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker were thought to be there.

Held by the Imperial Remnant throughout the Imperial Civil War, Grand Admiral Mitth'raw'nuruodo was able to take command of this space in 9 ABY. After Thrawn's death, Ankus became isolated and independent, as the rest of the galaxy was invaded by the Yuuzhan Vong in 27 ABY. Remaining separate for nearly a century, the world was taken by Darth Krayt's Galactic Empire as of 137 ABY.
