Skups were a Near-Human species. A legend said that ages ago, another species genetically altered them in order to sell them to the Hutts.

They differed from the Human norm by their small, closely-spaced eyes, large noses, and four-fingered hands. Their skin was described as the "color of dianoga cheese." They were not known for their prowess in battle, though a number of notable master thieves were Skups.

Skups were sometimes referred to as "biomorphs," which may imply that their species was originally produced via deliberate genetic manipulation.

Anky Fremp, a friend of the future bounty hunter Greedo, was a Sionian Skup.
