#'''Auto Fire Heavy Laser Cannon''': This is powerful weapon that has an exceptionally high rate of fire. Its high rate of fire is represented by the "D". This value can be either added to fire control to denote a single shot fired, added to damage to indicate a high volume of fire or split evenly between both fire control and damage. For every "D" added to damage there is a like "D" penalty to any sensor rolls covering the forward arc during the round of firing. ex: 3D added to damage, -3D to sensors rolls to the forward arc. | #'''Auto Fire Heavy Laser Cannon''': This is powerful weapon that has an exceptionally high rate of fire. Capsule: The Assault Model 10 Thunderbolt mkII, A-10 Thunderbolt II, was an early foray into the heavy strike and bomber starfighter market for Fairchild Republic. It possessed a large auto laser cannon, capable of very high rates of fire. Unfortunately the high rate of fire interfered with the sensors while the weapon was firing. Engineers believed this was a side effect of the high volume of energy in front of the ship, which temporarily blinded the pilot and any small ship too close the the auto cannon while being fired. To fit the role of a heavy bomber, four warhead launchers were mounted to the starfighter. Each launcher is capable of holding a magazine of either proton bombs, rockets or smart concussion missiles. Unfortunately, high production costs led to a high sale price which in turn led to a low volume of public and private sales. Most now sit in junk yards or the private armies of crime syndicates.
Notes:
- Auto Fire Heavy Laser Cannon: This is powerful weapon that has an exceptionally high rate of fire.
- 4 Multiple Warhead Launchers: These are a variable load warhead launching systems. Each launcher is capable of firing proton bombs, rockets, or smart concussion missiles. Standard configuration contains 2 concussion missile magazines, a single magazine of rockets and a single magazine of proton bombs.
- Proton Bombs: The proton bombs are unguided, non-propelled, "dumb", free fall bombs. A proximity detonator can be attached with moderate difficulty.
